PayPal review in Seattle, Washington: Dont trust that they have your back

1.0
Details
I bought from NY post and it was transferred to stock commerce who are a scam company. Paypal told me to return items which cost 94 dollars to me and they would reimburse me 30. I had to file FBI report as well. Amazon would never do business with this type of company and would have backed me 100 percent. I have spent hours of my time going through paypal and bottom line is no they are not fair at all. 27 years a customer and I am disgusted.

PayPal review in Bellevue, Washington: Incompetent Reps and Managers Cost Me 4 Days Lost Delivery Time

I have been a personal PayPal user (non business) for more than 14 years, and have provided literally thousands of dollars in revenue to them through my transactions. Apparently, none of this matters to PayPal when it comes to resolving their own system issues that have affected me this week by delaying the processing of a transaction for more than 4 days. Here's what happened: On Sunday I attempted to send $1850 to a seller for goods purchased. Although my home address, where I receive all shipments, has been a verified address on PayPal for years, their system decided to send an email to the seller notifying them of my payment INCLUDING THE MESSAGE: the payment includes an unconfirmed shipping address. The seller would not accept this payment, as PayPal does not honor their seller protection (that was paid for in the payment, by the way) when a shipping address is unconfirmed. So, the seller rejected my payment. I called PayPal, and after spending 20 minutes on the phone was assured the issue was resolved and I could resend payment. I did, and the same thing happened again. This cycle continued 2 more times, with me calling PayPal each time and being assured the problem was NOW fixed and I could send a payment without issue. Oh, and since I use my VISA as my payment source, each attempt at payment resulted in a pre authorization against my card limit, resulting in $5550 of credit limit hold after the 3 payment attempts, so when I was assured my a PayPal MANAGER the fourth time that the issue was resolved I could not even attempt a payment as I no longer had sufficient credit limit available on my card. So now I had to wait a day and a half until my bank released the temporary authorization holds on my VISA credit limit. This put us at Tuesday, all the while with me exchanging dozens of email messages with the seller attempting to explain what was going on. Bravo, PayPal. Way to make your customer look like a fool. Tuesday afternoon I get a second PayPal MANAGER on the phone, who insists he sees what the problem is, the other reps and managers did not sufficiently fix the issue in the PayPal system, and he would. (Nice competency from the previous 3 reps and a manager.) The new manager assures me the issue is fixed and I can send payment. I try, and the same thing happens yet again. He tells me to try again; same result. Once more; same result. Unfuckingbelievable. PayPal is apparently staffed with *** at every level. The PayPal manager tells me he will send an email to both the seller and me stating that PayPal will provide seller protection for the transaction despite the system stating my shipping address is unconfirmed, and I should feel free to send a payment again. But now I have processed 3 more preathorizations against my VISA card limit and have no remaining credit to send a fourth payment until the preathorizations fall off my VISA card. (Oh, and while the seller did receive this email message, I did not. Nice job following through on your commitment, PayPal manager.) Now it is Wed afternoon, the preathorizations remain on my VISA, and I am waiting for them to be released to send what I hope will be a final payment. And luckily I do not need my VISA today for anything else. So, 4 days after agreeing to a transaction and my purchased items have yet to be shipped. Bravo, PayPal for completely screwing up a customer's transaction. And does PayPal even think to escalate this and attempt to provide some satisfaction to their long time customer? Of course not. A *** company providing *** service.

PayPal abuse

Details
Whey you request money from your bank account it usually is transferred to PayPal with in minutes. PayPal then abuses you by taking 3 to 5 business days to make it available to you. They do this so the can make more interest off of your money. I made transfer from my bank account last week on the 9th. My bank showed that it was transferred at 11:20 AM on the 9th. My bank shows the difference between a hold on the money and a completed transaction. This was a completed transaction. Still after receiving my money on the 9th It was the 14th before the money was made available to me. Sign the petition to ask PayPal to stop this abuse. https://petitions.whitehouse.gov//petition/stop-paypal-taking-3-5-business-days-transfer-money-customers-accounts

My name is Angela I recently moved and I'm a struggling student. 2 months ago I spent all the money I had in my savings in purchasing three new iPhones off craigslist for a good deal I was lucky to find. These were valid legitimate phones-the serial numbers checked out with verizon, tmobile, and at&t - they werent blacklisted, or stolen, all three phones were brand new, sealed, unopened and never used, so I decided to try to sell them on ebay. I've never sold anything online before, but I've seen advertisements everywhere on the internet for ebay and paypal. Their claims of protecting sellers, buyers, and all kinds of promises were made to me before I signed up - so I felt safe initially in posting all three phones. One by one they all sold, over the course of a week and a half - and when the third phone sold, I got an email from paypal- telling me that my account was limited, and I needed to provide documentation to prove my identity. At first paypal asked for a few things, but as I started uploading my information to their website - statements, bills, my identification, social security number, so on and so forth - they started piling on more demands for me to comply with. THey wanted things that i couldn't even provide towards the end of it, and right when I uploaded one of my last documents, a comcast bill in my name with my address, they limited my account permanently - without appeal. They informed me they're holding my funds for 180 days, and there's nothing I can do about it. I've been calling paypal once a day now for 2 weeks straight, and every single person I've talked to has given me different requirements. They all keep saying the same thing, that I agreed to their terms of service - and when I asked them why they were doing this, they said that they need to hold onto the money to protect themselves in case of chargebacks for 180 days. This is in spite of the fact that all three items tracking numbers show delivered, all three items received positive feedbacks and gratitude from their buyers, all three items have been activated on their respective carriers without issue, and most importantly, at the time of the sale before i shipped, I was assured by paypal that I qualify for seller protection which would negate the ill effects of things such as chargebacks or item not received claims. The whole time leading up to this, i was reading stories of buyers abusing these systems to take advantage of sellers, and I was so scared at one point I considered scrapping the remaining two auctions and cancelling them as well as the first one before shipping the phone out and just selling them locally but I decided that its not likely to happen to me, I'm not a bad person I did nothing to deserve something so negative in life and I took my chances shipping all the phones out - I had NO idea that in the end, the only people who would be taking advantage of me were the ones at paypal itself. Paypal limited my account, not allowing me access to any of my funds for 180 days. This was all the money in the world I have to my name, and it's locked up making interest for paypal for 6 months now. My ebay account got closed because I couldn't pay the seller fees because paypal wouldnt release my money to ebay to cover the fees. The account has been sent to collections. I still don';t have any means to pay my seller fees on ebay. I don't have money to pay my rent this month, I've tried calling paypal multiple times asking them why they are doing this, but keep getting canned responses. I followed their rules down to the t, I took all the precautions to protect myself, and now i'm about to be evicted at the end of the month because everything I had saved up to my name is now gone thanks to paypal. I've resorted to pawning off my laptop, my TV, to try to come up with enough money for groceries this week. I can't sleep at night, I'm exhausted, I'm tired of crying, I can't cry anymore but that's all my body wants to do is grieve my whole life is falling apart i've never felt so violated or wronged before I feel like I got robbed in broad daylight and everyone saw and no one cares. I'm in complete shock at the way that this company has been handling this I have done nothing wrong! All three customers that received the three phones I sold, have left positive feedback, they signed for the packages, i have proof of their signatures, and they were all satisfied with their phones. What paypal is doing now is essentially earning interest on my money that they won't pay out to me despite the fact that i was assured that I would be protected should anything like a chargeback happen on these transactions to begin with! I've provided the documentation they've asked for, and they refuse to do anything until 180 days has passed, the last 3 times I called on friday I was simply trying to add a bank account to my paypal account in preparation to receive my money into it, as far away as it may be (they said october 18th), and all three attempts failed as their employees seemingly mocked and ridiculed me, telling me that im wasting my time and there's no point in adding a bank account since I can't pull the money out anytime soon anyway. What's wrong with these people??? This is a complete nightmare, I'm in tears as I write this, I'm starting to run out of options, please can you help me?

PayPal review in Seattle, Washington: Unintentionally set up $1,500 Credit line

I was trying to pay for an item on Ebay. The seller only accepts paypal. I had to reset my password. When the next dialog box for continuing the transaction came up it asked for DOB and last 4 of ss#. No where in the box did it indicate I was applying for credit. Took 3 calls and 90 minutes to close the account. I have a credit card on file with paypal that I thought I was using, which they make it extremely difficult to navigate to and use. I had no idea that PayPal needs to resort to scams to get business.

Trying to fix my sons account at PayPal

My son is 19yrs old and has planned to go off to collage this year but he just had a medical condition that put him in the hospital. He had a mental breakdown (he can't think for himself anymore) the Doctor's are trying to get him back to the way he was with new meds, but all we can do is hope for the best. In the mean time I am trying to get all his bills fixed so he will not have such a burden on himself if/when he gets out of the hospital. I called PayPal to try to fix his bill and take care of it but they told me that I couldn't do anything to help him, I think this is wrong of PayPal when there own cust. is incapacitated and not in his right state of mind. All I was wanting to do was help pay the bill not charge anything. The dumb *** I told them if I can't help him to do this then they will end up SOL on the money owed to them. They said "no problem". So what do you think, are they *** or not for not taking money from me to pay on a bill my son owes them? The amount we are talking about is only $557.77

Hate paypal, has to be better way!?!

Why does it take so long for Paypal to tranfer monies? It's not like the banks don't have electric accounting receiving systems. It has been past 3 days since I did the transfer of funds from paypal to my bank account. What is up with them, and I know they always say it is my bank; but my bank is going to say it is paypal. My guess is it is both, so they can earn interest on holding the funds for a few days before transferring to the customers. I thought it use to be 2 days for the transfer, but now it's 4 days. It would be quicker for me to have the person mail me a first-class letter with a check in it. So, much for the instant paypal paying system. Amazon.com has an instant system, I think next time I will do my selling there. Someone needs to start a better system.

Anyone who uses paypal knows that it takes about 3 to 5 business days for a transfer.

@woodysback

Yes, I think that is what I said. But, I guess you have no solutions?

I guess I was a little too stealth in my first posting, but I was looking for an alternative to paypal. The beginning part of my post was an opener to what I thought was a troublesome issue, to let other readings know what I was unhappy about with paypal, so they would not recommend another paying system that did the same.

But, then I guess, we all have our hobbies. I complain a lot, and you parrot people's postings.

Me: Hey, get off that couch!

You: Ya, get off that couch!

You admit that you couldn't even log in on your own. So of course you couldn't figure out how to use paypal. It's pretty easy, but if you can't even log into your own account without help, well, then it's your own fault.

I can understand about verifing an account and not letting you take one off. Oh this account had not been used in a while But..

To go round and round with pssword and secert ?'s and you end up right back doing passwrd and secert ? again and again, then still can not get into account is another thing. Something was wrong and when I tried to ask / tell lady and she wou,ld not listen, That is why I got really, really pissed.

My son did the same thing, he went round and round..password, secert ?, password, secert ?.. When you do that 4 -5 times you get alittle up set.

At first I could not even change to add. I will not use it anymore as the way they treated me.

When I first signed up with my son, they said "no problem" on the usage of my cards on his account as long as we shared passwords etc.. Then account was froozen and you could not get through. Just went round and round with the same imfo to put in. Called 4 times and last time I was pissed and yelled at lady.

She inturn called the local police K-9 unit. (It is the only time they came fast) I still could not get through.. When my son came home, he could not get in to account, same thing round and round..

If this is the way they do business, they do not need us.. I do not trust em now.

thats correct you cannot remove a card from paypal until you add a new card and have it verified and link it to a bank account.

it is so people dont just add a card that may not have alot of money on it and then purchase a big ticket item then dont pay paypal.

Paypal and her jezebell stepsister, eBay

eBay used to be sooooo easy to use. Fair. Simple. Straightforward. Whoever has presided over the current structure of the site, policies, customer service, etc. has really messed up. Here's my experience so far, a real nightmare. SETUP IS A HASSLE. I had three email accounts connected to four eBay account, three half.com accounts, two paypal accounts and on and on and on. It took forever to get everything to work; everyone and everything requires verification and yada yada yada. Get a credit card on file, a bank account, wait for deposits to show....I actually tried a few times over the past 3 years and gave up each time...until now. Somehow I found the patience to do it. How unfortunate for me. PAYPAL IS AWFUL. I go through all of this hassle connecting my eBay and Paypal account and printing labels and such so that shipping, payment and tracking is seamless. BUT, it's not. Orders are marked unshipped when they were shipped through shipping labels paid for via Paypal. Oh and even better, the funds are not yet accessible. Even though I have been verified, the buyer has been verified, blah blah blah. I ordered an item on 10/13/11 and it was supposed to be shipped the next day from India so that I can wear it to my brother's engagement party since shipping will take WEEKS. Paypal made an executive decision and put a temporary hold on my account, just for kicks and giggles. Both the seller and I responded to requests for information within 24 hours. Now, I don't have the outfit, the seller is waiting on me (thank God she's not as money hungry as Paypal, she's selling me her last item and holding it). I have verified everything from my e-mail address to my dog's ***. Although I appreciate "security," a temporary hold is NOT temporary when it's over 24 hours in the age of lightening speed information!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Paypal strives to be a bank? Well, bank customer service is open 24/7 and aside from a terrible menu, I couldn't get a hold of an agent at all. How do they stay in business?!?!??!?! OH wait, I know; they charge my credit card within 2.2 seconds and then keep the money for 5 days. Nice. On another occasion, so I sold an item via eBay; boxed, shipped and tracked it via eBay/Paypal. Guess what I see next to my payment status: Estimated funds availability* While you establish a successful sales history on eBay, in most cases, funds from eBay sales are available in 21 days - or sooner, based on how you ship the order. To help get your funds faster, ship quickly and provide great customer service. If your buyer reports a problem, it may take longer to get your funds. Learn more Here are some things you can do to help get access to your funds sooner: Actions you can take Estimated funds availability* Print eBay or PayPal labels so your tracking information uploads automatically 3 calendar days after we can confirm delivery Manually enter your tracking information on eBay or your PayPal Transaction Details page if you ship domestically directly through USPS, UPS, or FedEx. 3 calendar days after we can confirm delivery Mark your items as shipped on eBay 7 calendar days after the latest estimated delivery date Fulfill the order, but don't provide us any shipping information 21 calendar days POLICIES ARE ABSOLUTELY DRACONIAN. I seem to be violating a *** eBay policy on a daily basis for every item I post. There are so many useless and meritless policies, I have never seen so much time wasted for no good reason. When I finally could list items, which is a headache already; guess what tho, as a new seller, you can't list more than X number of items for God knows how long. This is really draconian for new sellers to have to pay for the missteps of previous eBay sellers by not being able to sell anything for weeks and weeks - for no other reason than eBay created a crumby policy. eBay is deliberately killing their network effects by limiting new people to list!!!! Instead of punishing new sellers, do something innovative. How about a better way of maintaining security or ensuring customer service? Now THAT is novel. It's funny how every email contains a policy; "Do not respond to the sender if this message requests that you complete the transaction outside of eBay. This type of offer is against eBay policy, may be fraudulent, and is not covered by buyer protection programs. Learn More." As an avid student of customer behavior, it seems to me that eBay has driven many many people to do transactions outside of their realm of customer draconian-ism. Hence the policies, bureaucracy, the b.s., etc. And since Policies are a reaction to previous incidents, precedents, etc., eBay/Paypal policies tell me that they have always had major problems in every element of their business. SITE ITSELF IS TERRIBLE. Navigation and website usage is horrible. I have never had such a hard time using a website in my life. And I consider myself quite tech/internet/ecommerce savvy. The site is busy, overwhelming and just plain ineffective. When you have to implement an eBay University for users to just use your service, THERE'S A PROBLEM. WHAT HAPPENED TO FEEDBACK? Why isn't there a link, reminder, email, notification, SOMETHING that tells me that I have feedback on the site? I didn't even know I was getting feedback!!!!! This is one of the most critical functions of the site because people want to buy from someone they trust. It's obviously been downgraded in priority because its NOT a default setting unless one figures they should maybe look for their feedback ratings! Paypal is worthless. Did I mention the 7 day hold they put on my account? Even after the seller and I responded to their garbage? Even AFTER THEY CHARGED MY CREDIT CARD and took my MONEY right away. *** you both. FEES. Finally, let's look at the bottom line, eBay's fees are sick. Instead of incentivizing people to sell sell sell, it incentivizes sellers to find loopholes to make money just to pay the fees until they get frustrated enough to leave. -Insertion Fee - why? -Picture Fee - I repeat, why? -Buy it now Fee - why? -Reserve Fee - why? -Final Value Fee - I understand this, they have to make money. -Final Value on Shipping Fee - Are you serious???? Finally, my money went into Paypal (at least some of it did). But I'm paying Paypal now for receiving my money? I THOUGHT EBAY BOUGHT PAYPAL?!?!?!?!?!?! I really hope these evil stepsisters get what they deserve.
