I was locked out of my Paypal account after reacting to what I later took for a fake email from "service@***.de". I could not reach the Paypal service center in Frankfurt by phone, since I am currently residing in Zambia and my phobe company threw me out of the queue after an hour.
I went through this process four times, i.e. waiting for four solid hours on phone. I managed to get an online chat going with the service center for North America, but they told me I had to ring the Frankfurt center, which did not work for me (see above).
Paypal never got in touch with me, but on the next day I was able to access my account again and luckily no harm had been done to it. I am very unhappy about these difficulties communicating.There should be a way to chat online or to get in touch via email, even (or when!) being locked out of one's account.
