I have been a long-time PayPal user with a clean record. I was recently notified that my account has been permanently limited due to activity deemed inconsistent with User Agreement. This came as a complete shock, as I have never violated PayPal's Acceptable Use Policy and have always used my account for legitimate transactions.
Why is everything automated nowadays?

I have called multiple times since posting my first complaint. The representatives always tell me to "allow time for the system to refresh" but can't tell me how long that is.
The last time I called, on September 29th, I was transferred to a supervisor and that did almost nothing to help. He told me that there is a block on my debit card and they don't know when it will be lifted. Again, that was almost no help. And I need to repeat the same question or other response several times before I get a response or one that I can sort of understand.
Again, I am getting virtually nowhere and the agents fail to provide useful/understandable information.
I don't know where to take this now. I am located in the US.
No such luck. I keep getting an error message even though I'm entering all the information correctly. I tried calling and having a representative add it over the phone. That didn't work either.
Supposedly, my issuing bank is rejecting the attempt to add this particular debit card.
I don't know why. But this has been going on for close to a week now, and it should be something easy to resolve.

Cause there's has been some Aurthrise translation on my account There's translation in the month of Sept.Theres is 12 translation that went on a cash app card ending in 4890
I have only made 3 transaction in the month of Sept that was on Sept 22 for 700
Sept 24 for 10 and on Sept 24 for 200 all three of those transaction went on a Vero debit card ending in 7556
I only have a Vero debit card there's two that I had link to my account
The cash app card I don't know whos it is and besides I don't even have a cash app card or account

Have not completely shut my account cards down I've contacted you several times
I had fraud on my account for money that was not approved...my bank shut my account down I had to open a new account...I called several time for you to totally shut down my account and all card that werevused.. YOU keep sending me temp usage and another fraud happened yes you blocked my account but you still have my info up

I went through the exact same described incident with Huntington bank debit card and they refunded my money immediately and it was for a lot more money than what they were able to steal from my PayPal debit card. They honored their theft-protection.
I told PayPal that they are liable because this person was able to spend my money since they didn't require her to use my PIN number.
They refused to refund the money that was stolen, contrary to their theft-protection promises. They also retaliated against me by not approving any other transactions that I attempt.

- Will not honor their proclaimed theft protection
- Your money is unsafe and unprotected as a thief is not required to know your pin number to drain your account
- Will not stop payment on unauthorized fraudulent pending charges

I (Joanne Waage) sent money to my very old paypal account (joanne_waage@***.com) created when I lived in South Africa.
I moved to Spain 13 years ago and no longer remember the password of this account and no longer have a South African telephone number. To change the password I need to be authenticated but the telephone number no longer exists.
I sent 28euros to this old account by by accident so I have requested it to be transferred back to my latest PayPal account (joanne.waage@***.com) But I cannot authorize the transaction because the old email and old telephone numbers are obsolete.
So how do I access this old account to transfer the 28eu back to my new account?
(my new account joanne.waage@***.com is in my Spanish name Joanne Do Plooy Oosthuizen (which I had to have when I became a Spanish citizen)

They limit the accounts of regular customers without even asking or warning. They accuse you of being risky and they hold your funds for 180 days.
Now, I want to solve the problem, but in the future, I will use other services. This is a total lack of respect for customers. You must give valid reasons when you ban or limit someone. Their agents are not available; they do not answer the phone, but I will take the case to court if necessary.
They accused me of my business being NO ACTIVE, which is not truth at all.
I sent them. number of registration, official docs but I believe they did not even check it.
I also sent bank statement so they can see company exists. Total lack of respect!

I reached via customer service to provide a transaction number I received from the lawyers offices handling the government issued Brigit refunds from the Federal Trade Commission. I had received several emails from PayPal regarding this refund.
However, the representative told me it was a scam and all my information was breached without giving any solution or recourse. Then I called the lawyers office back and it was reiterated to me that this was not correct and they provided me with another PayPal customer service number. The same PayPal representative answered again and before pulling up my account to verify my information said the transaction number was not real. Then she asked me for my email to my PayPal account and while I was giving it she interrupted me and asked for it again?
So, I let her know she had just interrupted me while I was doing exactly that (giving my email to the PayPal account) I then asked for escalation to a supervisor. I was put on hold for several minutes. The representative came back on the line stating her supervisor was busy. I asked if there was a complaint or escalation department and was told no.
I asked again and was told yes to the escalation department and when I asked to be transferred was told it was her supervisor? I reiterated to her that she just confirmed there was an escalation department, which indicates it is a department not one sole person. She put me back on hold for several more minutes and then came back on the line and dropped the call. I have already moved out of looking for a solution through PayPal for the Brigit refund and am working directly with the lawyers office handling said refunds, but want to make sure PayPal is aware that this specific customer service representative was not only unprofessional, but she was rude, uninformed, handled the call poorly in every way and came off as completely incompetent.
Worse still, she never escalated the call to a supervisor, another agent, or department and then hung up on me, the PayPal customer. I sincerely hope that PayPal is able to locate this representative as it reflects more than just poorly on her, but leaves PayPal customers wanting to severe any relationship with PayPal as I am planning to never utilize PayPal services as a result.
PayPal should be vetting candidates appropriately and furthermore most certainly should give their customers recourse for such when situations like these arise and Im sure, continue to arise. Goodluck.

Banned for Life from Paypal due to being "Underage" When I was 21?
I was using paypal as a service for building and repairing computers for people when suddenly my account gets blocked from making any transactions. Paypal then demands me to hand over my government ID as well as a photo of myself.
I do so, and get emailed by like 4 different people. I eventually get an email from a "Lead Security Team" that demands my License AGAIN. I again verify the email is legit, from paypal and send it again. Mind you, I am 21 at this time and a college student trying to make money on the side for college.
They simply reply "You're underage, and cannot use our service, We will be suspending your account." And then permanently banned me from using my email, phone number or anything associated with my name with paypal. I attempted to contact them again after 2 years.
And they say they cannot un-suspend my account due to reasons they cannot tell me. I guess I'm not using paypal ever again.
User's recommendation: If paypal asks you for your ID. Make sure you specify your age because customer service apparently cannot read DOB's.

These are the worst company I've ever dealt with. When I was not asking for my money, my account was fine with no problems.
But my son was having an asthma attack, so I asked PayPal if they could release my money early so I could get him an inhaler and they pretty much spat in my face. I was upset, a little irate as any father would be watching their son having trouble breathing and just being told no to my money. So since I started asking for my money, they limited my account and then shut me down, and is holding my money for 120 days for trying to be a great father and help his son out. I get this crap from PayPal.
I ask you, where was I being rude to his employees like he said I was? I didn't say anything wrong.

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. Did not use PayPal as they would not contact the seller, and there was incorrect information on the shipping. You have to keep pushing as PayPal does not go 'the extra' mile for you - they side with the seller, even if the solution is obvious.
Their verbiage deceives the customer who wants support. Even if the deception of the seller is obvious, they side with the seller and ignore the consumer.
Don't use them - even if it's convenient! It's not worth it in the long run - you'll walk into a situation where you need the help and they will ignore you!

PAYPAL IS CORRUPT. If and when you have a problem with them, just turn it over to your Credit Card Company or Bank to handle.
Don't even waist your time and breath. PAYPAL AND THEIR POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS LEGENDARY.
