My Email Used To Open Bogus PayPal Account; PayPal Says They Can't Do Anything About It

I took another look at the email correspondence from PayPal to my email address concerning this fraudulent account. On May 22, 2016, PayPal did send an email asking the thief to confirm my email address as his, and even gave a confirmation code to enter on their site....

Stop with the "class action" nonsense. You have read of this legal action much too much.

Just stop using that email address and/or go in to it's settings and re-set your password, etc.

Geez! This is not rocket science.

People will use PayPal instead of cash or check if they're short on cash.

You can use a credit card and charge the amount - perhaps this is the situation?

Incompetent Reps and Managers Cost Me 4 Days Lost Delivery Time

I have been a personal PayPal user (non business) for more than 14 years, and have provided literally thousands of dollars in revenue to them through my transactions. Apparently, none of this matters to PayPal when it comes to resolving their own system issues that have affected me this week by delaying the processing of a transaction for more than 4 days. Here's what happened: On Sunday I attempted to send $1850 to a seller for goods purchased. Although my home address, where I receive all shipments, has been a verified address on PayPal for years, their system decided to send an email to the seller notifying them of my payment INCLUDING THE MESSAGE: the payment includes an unconfirmed shipping address. The seller would not accept this payment, as PayPal does not honor their seller protection (that was paid for in the payment, by the way) when a shipping address is unconfirmed. So, the seller rejected my payment. I called PayPal, and after spending 20 minutes on the phone was assured the issue was resolved and I could resend payment. I did, and the same thing happened again. This cycle continued 2 more times, with me calling PayPal each time and being assured the problem was NOW fixed and I could send a payment without issue. Oh, and since I use my VISA as my payment source, each attempt at payment resulted in a pre authorization against my card limit, resulting in $5550 of credit limit hold after the 3 payment attempts, so when I was assured my a PayPal MANAGER the fourth time that the issue was resolved I could not even attempt a payment as I no longer had sufficient credit limit available on my card. So now I had to wait a day and a half until my bank released the temporary authorization holds on my VISA credit limit. This put us at Tuesday, all the while with me exchanging dozens of email messages with the seller attempting to explain what was going on. Bravo, PayPal. Way to make your customer look like a fool. Tuesday afternoon I get a second PayPal MANAGER on the phone, who insists he sees what the problem is, the other reps and managers did not sufficiently fix the issue in the PayPal system, and he would. (Nice competency from the previous 3 reps and a manager.) The new manager assures me the issue is fixed and I can send payment. I try, and the same thing happens yet again. He tells me to try again; same result. Once more; same result. Unfuckingbelievable. PayPal is apparently staffed with *** at every level. The PayPal manager tells me he will send an email to both the seller and me stating that PayPal will provide seller protection for the transaction despite the system stating my shipping address is unconfirmed, and I should feel free to send a payment again. But now I have processed 3 more preathorizations against my VISA card limit and have no remaining credit to send a fourth payment until the preathorizations fall off my VISA card. (Oh, and while the seller did receive this email message, I did not. Nice job following through on your commitment, PayPal manager.) Now it is Wed afternoon, the preathorizations remain on my VISA, and I am waiting for them to be released to send what I hope will be a final payment. And luckily I do not need my VISA today for anything else. So, 4 days after agreeing to a transaction and my purchased items have yet to be shipped. Bravo, PayPal for completely screwing up a customer's transaction. And does PayPal even think to escalate this and attempt to provide some satisfaction to their long time customer? Of course not. A *** company providing *** service.

Paypal did not comply with there policy

I called paypal to open a case they said not to worry if the seller doesnt respond within 5days I will be refunded the seller sold me an item that did not work it was a deficted item I called ebay and they directed me to paypal paypal did not correspond with me about the seller notifing them paypal said they send me email I never got ant email from them if I would have not called I would have never knew what was happening anyways when I called the first time they said the seller was responsible for the return shipping after the seller responded then paypal turn the whole information around with a stament that went like this oh the buyer has to pay for return and then he will be refunded well this is not true they lie about everything they work only for the seller

Poor problem resolution

I have had problems getting onto my acct. Should be a easy fix, right? Not with paypal! I have tried for several years to get the problem fixed, and I can not even get in contact because of their methods. I wanted to reset my password. They gave me only one option to do this. They would call me on a old phone number I no longer have. There was no way to change the number without logging onto my acct., and no way to log onto the acct. without talking to them on a number that no longer exist. There has been several products that I have wanted to buy over the years that I had to forget about because paypal was the only method they would accept. They are horrible.

PayPal works great unless you need them

PayPal was convenient and protected me from flaky vendors. And the stork brings babies. I ordered, took a screen print of my order. The vendor sent the wrong item. I put a stop through PayPal. The vendor wanted me to return the item at my expense and to release the payment. Finally, the vendor refunded the shipment cost. Since the item had been sent through the warehouse company, the vendor's address was not on or in the package. There was none on the website. The 800 number on the website was not in service. It was the same number PayPal had. I talked to PayPal. They had the vendor's address but couldn't release it. Their confirming e-mail said that if I didn't return the item in 30 days, they would close the issue and I would lose my $700. Finally, when I threatened to close my account, they sent me the address and I returned the package. Now I have to wait another 30 days for them to verify that the vendor received the package. No more PayPal, never again. And by the way, did you know that all ebay transactions, including those charged to your credit card, are processed through PayPal whether or not you have a PayPal account?

Opened another account with info'

They used my info to open a account with Skype. They are only people who had info from 3 years ago. I asked to check my info . they found it was different from 3 years ago. They also found phone number was different. I told them to send me proof I opened account. They said "We don't that" They keep charging things to the account they opened. The police asked for proof . they would not give it to me. I have sent them a police report . I am also sending info to our local news people and they are waiting for answer before they talk to them on tv.

Paypal is not worth using .there bad bussiness .. always making excuses to keep holding on to your money that dont belong to them .. they make interest with my momey that i cant even withdraw from them. I will never use paypal for anyrhing ever again ..(also ebay) your the one who created the nonsense that a person must use paypal and i will never use your services ever again ..very displeased with both ebay and paypal .

Fraudulent Account Change/Update

Paypal changed the social security number on file from mine, to that of my wife, they say, back in September 2007. However, I didn't even know my wife in September 2007, let alone her social security number!!! I want them to pull that call, and prove this, which I know they cannot! When I spoke w/their Customer Service department, they requested a copy of my social security card sent to their compliance department via email, which I sent to them, despite having verified my account by making 2 deposits to my Paypal account from my bank! I want them to pull the recorded call, and prove the date, time, and the representative I was alleged to have spoken with!

PAYPAL ILLEGALLY HOLDING MY MONEY

PayPal has been withholding $137.94 of my money since May 30, 2016. I have been corresponding with PayPal since June 6, explaining that I am not a business and am not selling any products. They continue to give me the same tired response and will not release my money. I have filed complaints with the State of California Attorney General's Office, the State of Texas Attorney General's Office and the FTC. I have explained that I am not a seller of goods and have no tracking information because there were no goods sold. PayPal still refuses to release my money. How does PayPal get away with this? It is unfathomable!

Paypal helps fraudsters and scam artists by witholding funds

I sold a record through discogs only to find the buyer claiming, upon reciept that tghe record was not what he ordered. He opened a claim in Paypal. The withdrew funds from my account. The buyer offered to return the item, upon which i agreed to a partial discount, for the cost of the goods. This money was immediately withdrawn from my paypal account. No sign of record in the post. When I comaplined to Paypal, they countacted the buyer who sent me a DIFFERENT record in the post, meaning he was refunded the money and kept the item. I have complained to Paypal 5 times to no avail. They simple send me a formal notice saying that I agreed to refund. In fact I only agreed to refund on return of goods. Paypal can withold funds but cannot force return of goods. It is immoral and has allowed a total scam artist to benefit from an honest transaction. The buyer even has reviews on discogs saying he has done this before.
