I was defrauded out of $2,000 by people using PayPal My Cash Card's & eBay as a cover.

The 4 - $500.00 Cash Cards I bought are inscribed in bold black letters that "Before moving funds, PayPal will request Address, Social Security number, and date of birth to confirm your identify" from this script on your card I felt I was secured as far as the funds being withdrawn without me remitting this information. I never gave out my Social Security number or date of birth. Because of this the moneys should have been secured until this transpired as advertised, but they were able to cash them.

After the fact it is easy to see that I was defrauded but these people used all PayPal logos, email address, eBay print outs, and even gave out a (supposed) eBay listed phone number and had a number set up that would answer and take messages which I called and was answered buy an eBay representative message which asked me to wait for an employ to pick up the phone, they even had elevator music while I was waiting. After a long wait and it was never answered I tried again and left a message which was never returned. My thoughts were that this was not unusual as it happens all the time. In fact it happened when I tried to call PayPal My Cash Card actual phone number several times.

I talked to eBay and they said they didn't think I would have any problem recouping my money from PayPal as PayPal has an excellent fraud police. Didn't happen. they more or less brushed me off.

I will never use My Cash card's again. The people at PayPal My Cash Card were of no help at all!

Reason of review: defrauded.

Monetary Loss: $2000.

Preferred solution: Full refund.

PayPal Cons: Paypal my cash card.

Location: San Antonio, Texas

You didn't buy a car or RV from a US service member stationed overseas? Have the item shipped to you for a fraction of the actual value?

With PayPal buyers protection? You would have so many days to accept or decline the item at which time it would be shipped back to the seller at no charge to you. You are never able to see the item because it is in a federal storage facility. autoexplosion.com is a haven for such fraud.

95% of their listing are fraudulent. 200 listings for the same car or RV all over the country.

Same picture and everything. It's called Due Diligence.

As I think about it eBay / PayPal gave the thieves the account that allowed them to cash the $2,000 worth of PayPal My Cash cards. The thieves opened an fraudulent account using a fake name, fake social security number, and fake address, fake telephone number, along with other fake information for them to set up an account.

No telling how many people were defrauded like I was. PayPal still made their $24 and that is all they were interested in.

They should have checked out there information before setting up an account, none the less before cash the $2,000 of PayPal my cash cards.

Sorry, but I doubt that these crooks have anything to do with Paypal or eBay. Let me guess: you were going to buy $500 cash cards for $300, right?

Tell us more. Too much trouble, but I could paste a eBay logo right here:

No they were not trying to get an extra $300. I have no problem with eBay or PayPal, My problem is with PayPal My Cash Card which is an entity of its own.

My problem is with fraud perpetrators that used every trick in the book to emulate eBay and there setting up a fake phone numbers and Even the name of eBay on the emails.

(All though it seems eBay & PayPal could try to prevent this in some shape or manner, after all they are a multibillion dollar Co.).

The problem is - My Cash Cards are inscribed in bold black letters that "Before moving funds, PayPal will request Address, Social Security number, and date of birth to confirm your identity" from this script on the card I felt I was secured as far as the funds being withdrawn without me remitting this information.
